Pekan Kebudayaan Nasional 2019 consists of a number of main activities, including the Regional Competition, National Competition, Conference on Cultural Advancement, Cultural Exhibition, Performance of National Cultural Works, and Cultural Parades.
Pekan Kebudayaan Nasional 2019 was officially opened on Monday night (7/10) by Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko. This event will be held until Sunday, 13 October 2019 at Istora Senayan in Central Jakarta, with the theme of Ruang Bersama Indonesia Bahagia.
According to Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, the National Culture Week (PKN) plays an important role in maintaining an inclusive spirit and diversity. The PKN has a role as a cultural network and platform where all actors and stakeholders can be involved in efforts to advance Indonesian culture.
"Built in stages from the Regional Cultural Week in each district / city and province, the National Cultural Week is the biggest cultural event that we have today," he said.
Muhadjir added, the National Culture Week will be held periodically every year. He hopes the event will become a global event, and become the biggest event every year, starting at the district / city and provincial levels.
Meanwhile, according to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture Didik Suhardi, this activity is a paradise for travelers, both from within and outside the country. "There is a lot of food, there is also cultural preservation, all kind of positive things are here. Let's get used to it so Indonesia becomes a world tourist destination," Didik said. He hoped that this event would not only be a cultural event, but could become one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia.
This event consists of a number of main activities, including the Regional Competition, National Competition, Conference on Cultural Advancement, Cultural Exhibition, Performance of National Cultural Works, and Cultural Parades. The series of PKN events includes 10 competitions, 27 conferences, 120 shows, and 24 exhibitions. In addition, there are also seminars and communities from all over Indonesia. Overall, there are 245 performances.
Famous Indonesian musicians also livened up the event, including Danilla Riyadi, The Sigit, to the "Godfather of Broken Heart" Didi Kempot. At the peak of the 2019 National Culture Week, a cultural march will be held involving 3,500 participants from 26 provinces. Reportedly, on this occasion President of Indonesia Joko Widodo will come.
