A sedentary lifestyle, a diet high in fat, and stress have become part of modern people's lives. It is not surprising that the number of chronic diseases, including heart disease, continues to increase.

Exercising, at least 150 minutes every week, is one of the requirements for keeping your body fit. However, to get maximum benefits from exercise, we also need to eat a healthy diet.

Indeed, there are many healthy foods, but the best for maintaining heart health you can get from the following foods.

Salmon and other fatty fish contain omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants which are very good for heart health. In fact, according to research, its benefits exceed those of other meats. Omega-3 is a type of unsaturated fat that can reduce 'bad' cholesterol levels by reducing inflammation levels in the body.

Blueberries are often referred to as a superfood because they contain the potent antioxidant resveratrol. Many studies say that resveratrol plays a role in reducing the risk of heart disease. A study from Harvard University found that consuming blueberries and strawberries can reduce the risk of heart attack by more than 30%.

Green tea contains resveratrol and catechins which increase antioxidant content, prevent plaque formation in blood vessels, and also act as anticancer agents.

According to Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health, Edward Giobannucci, tomatoes are also very effective in binding free radicals which can reduce the risk of aging.
