Asian Lantern Festival comes with unique lantern.
Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is welcoming the 2018 Asian Games by holding an Asian Lantern Festival as part of the park’s Asian Festival series of events. The Ancol Lantern Festival is the first and the biggest that is held in Ancol.
Taking place at Festival Beach, the event started since 10 August 2018 and will run until 30 September 2018. Open to the public, the lanterns are shaped like famous landmarks and mascots from Asian countries, among them the Taj Mahal, the Merlion (Singapore's official mascot, a half-lion half-fish) and ondel-ondel (giant Betawi effigies). Some are placed on the ground, and others float on the sea.
Visitors are able to enjoy music and dance performances from different Asian countries at Asian Culture Show until 2 September 2018, including Taiko Drums from Japan, the Tinikling Dance from the Philippines and the Buchaechum dance from Korea. Moreover, the park is also holding a Asian Food Festival until 2 September 2018 featuring foods and beverages originating from several countries in Asia.
