DKI Provincial Government Collaborates with 21 Institutions to Overcome Floods in Jakarta

The Provincial Government of Jakarta collaborates with 21 institutions to tackle floods in Jakarta.

The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Jakarta through the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) continues to work to tackle floods in Jakarta. One of them is in collaboration with 21 institutions / organizations, communities, and startups through the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on the Implementation of Disaster Management, especially flood inJakarta.

The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan together with the cooperation partners signed the agreement at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta on Thursday (2/1/2020). In his remarks, Anies said that the government was responsible for facilitating the community who want to channeling help.

According to Anies, this agreement will clarify the mapping of aid and types of community support, so it can be accommodated into one. "What we are working on is new. Collaborating like this is new we are working on. Previously it was only announced, then on its own. Now we are working on it as a partnership," Anies said.

Anies also hopes that there will be SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) that can be planned together in disaster management efforts that can’t be predicted so the government can be overcome quickly and efficiently. "Of course we don’t want disasters, but disasters don’t always come unexpectedly. When that happens, this collaboration is ready to work. Hopefully we can work quickly, efficiently, and people can feel the benefits," Anies added.

The scope of the Disaster Management Cooperation Agreement in DKI Jakarta includes:
- Mapping and information of flood affected areas.
- Appeal and gathering support in the form of funds or other support for flood and post-flood disaster management.
- Funds management and other support for flood disaster management sourced from other parties' support to flood victims on target.
- Implementation of handling support.
- Flood disasters in the fields of evacuation, logistics, health, information and technology support, and social impacts.
- Submission of reports on the use of funds and other support.
- Monitoring and evaluation.

Institutions that work together include Baznas Bazis Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Rumah Zakat, Wahana Visi Indonesia Foundation, Kita Bisa Foundation, Palang Merah Indonesia, Dompet Dhuafa, PT Grab Teknologi Indonesia, PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa, PT Virtual Online Exchange, Jakarta Amanah Mulia Foundation, Mandiri Amal Insani Foundation, Amil Zakat Al-Azhar Institution, Amil Zakat Nasional Nurul Hayat Institution, PKPU Human Initiative Foundation, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association of Jakarta Raya, DPD Indonesian Women's Entrepreneurs Association of DKI Jakarta, Turun Tangan Foundation, Borobudur Hotel, Amil Zakat Muhammadiyah Institution, Buddha Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation, and Aksi Cepat Tanggap Foundation.
