1. Milk Pie

There is an easy way to make milk pie without using a mixer or oven. With your non-sticky pan also known as Teflon, you definitely can make a delicious milk pie with crunchy crusty on the outside and soft vla (any custard-like on the top of cakes or baked goods) at the top of the crunchy crusty pie.

Ingredients:

  • (Pie skin)
  • 200 grams flour
  • 100 grams margarine
  • 1 egg

(Vla)

  • 2 eggs (used the yolk only)
  • 100 ml sweet condensed milk
  • 100 ml of boiled water
  • 50 grams of corn starch
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla powder

Steps:

  1. For the skin, mix flour and margarine until they are being granules, add egg, and round them up. Knead the dough with hands until smooth and elastic (dough not stick to your hands). Knead well, not too long because heat from your hands can melt margarine. Set aside.
  2. For vla, whisk corn starch with boiled water, set aside. Mix egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla powder with a fork. Add corn starch and round them up.
  3. Prepare a non-stick pan (Teflon) with little margarine. Roll the dough as wide as the pan, place dough properly in the pan, ensure to cover the pan with dough evenly. Dock a pastry (prick a pie crust with a fork before filling) to reduce the possibility of burning and use low heat. For large stoves, you can use bricks around the stove to ensure your pan not directly exposed to the fire. Choose a maximum of 5 cm bricks.
  4. Cook the pie crust for about 15 minutes before filling. Add filling, cover the pan with a lid which has a small hole to allow steam to escape so the pie crust does not soggy. If you do not have a lid pan with a small hole, you can wipe the lid for every 10 minutes until (pie crust) cooked. While the pie crust seems solid, wait 5 minutes to cool it down before taking down the crust from the pan to prevent the pie from cracking.
