Since 2014, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has provided free bus tour for Jakartans and tourists who want to exploring the city.

You may have seen many double-decker buses in Jakarta, but have you ever taken them? If not, then you should take time to take this bus tour on your holiday weekend.

Since 2014, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has provided free bus tour or what was once known as City Tour for Jakartans and tourists who want to exploring the city. The bus tour has a capacity of 60 passengers with AC and tour guide in it.

This bus tour is divided into seven routes, including BW1 (History of Jakarta), BW2 (Jakarta Modern), BW3 (Art and Culinary), BW4 (Jakarta Skyscrapers), BW5 (Jakarta Open Space), BW6 (Jakarta Heritage), and BW7 (Jakarta Shopping).

If you want to visit one of the very popular open spaces in Jakarta, Kalijodo, then BW5 is the bus that you must take. To ride BW5, you can wait at the front stop of Jakarta City Hall with a blue sign that reads "Bus Tour".

Before taking you to Kalijodo, this bus will stop at Sarinah and Tosari bus stops, you can also take BW5 from those two bus stops. After that, the bus will pass Semanggi and enter the Slipi 1 toll road.

This bus is very comfortable because besides the seat is so soft, the cool air-conditioning, the bus driver also drives the bus in medium speed, so you can enjoy the view of Jakarta during the trip.

In addition, for the convenience of the passengers, because it is a bus tour, passengers are not allowed to stand. So, if all seats are filled, passengers who do not get seat cannot board the bus, and must wait for the next bus.

Trip time from the city hall to Kalijodo takes about one hour, and it doesn't feel too long because the atmosphere inside the bus is very comfortable. Most BW5 passengers (Jakarta Open Space) are people from outside the city and people who have never been to Kalijodo and want to know what Kalijodo is like now.

Well, if you are interested in visiting Kalijodo using BW5, this bus only operates on Saturdays and Sundays from 11.00 to 19.00 WIB. This bus will also take you back to the city hall, so there is no need to be confused about how to go back.
