Light Rail Transit (LRT) Jakarta is scheduled to start its commercial operation on December 1, 2019 with a rate of Rp 5,000 per trip or flat rate. The enactment of this flat rate is stipulated in DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 34 Year 2019 concerning Mass Rapid Transit Railroad Transportation and Light Rail Transit.

"Payment of trip rates can use Single Journey Trip (SJT) card which can be obtained at ticket purchase counters and ticket vending machines," said Corporate Communication Manager of PT LRT Jakarta, Melisa Suciati in a written statement on lrtjakarta.co.id, Sunday (24/ 11/2019).

In addition to using the SJT card, LRT Jakarta also cooperates with banks for electronic money payment, including BNI, BRI, Mandiri, BCA, and Bank DKI. In commercial operation, LRT Jakarta will serve Pegangsaan Dua - Velodrome route which consists of six stations Pengangsaan Dua Station, North Boulevard, South Boulevard, Pulomas, Equestrian, and Velodrome. With operational hours every day starting at 05:30 to 23:00 WIB.

Previously, LRT Jakarta had conducted public trial since June 11, 2019. In the public trial, the public could try LRT for free with a quota of 5,000 people per day.
