Boarding house businesses are increasingly in demand, especially in office or campus areas. Usually, people rent a boarding house as a long-term residence. Seeing the opportunity, one of the technology-based hotel management companies, RedDoorz, offers a boarding house with a co-living concept named KoolKost. Through this concept, RedDoorz wants to build interaction between borders.

The requirements for boarding house businesses to join KoolKost include having a minimum of 10 rooms and already having a Building Permit (IMB) license. In addition, Virtual Hotel Operator (VHO) from RedDoorz will also check the quality first.

Some qualities that are considered are free Wi-Fi speed, wardrobe, and free mineral water. However, because KoolKost carries a co-living concept, one of the qualities that become the most concern is community space for residents to gather.

"Because it carries a co-living concept, of course, there must be a community area. A place to gather so that residents can sit and eat together. Watch or play billiards together. Breakfast together like a community, " said Vice President of Operations RedDoorz Adil Ali Mubarak at KoolKost launching at Ecology Bistro & Lounge in Jakarta, Thursday (23/1/2020).

If the community area facility already exists, then the boarding house can join the KoolKost service. Not only that, this property management network also plans to hold monthly activities, in order to make the atmosphere between residents even tighter. Therefore, the purpose of co-living itself is to make the residents interact with each other. That is what distinguishes it from boarding houses in general.

KoolKost also offers room cleaning services that come once a week. However, if the residents want a daily room cleaning service, they can coordinate directly with the boarding house owner via the KoolKost app, which is planned to be launched in March.
