MRT Jakarta in collaboration with Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) Indonesia has launched a program titled #JalanJakarta. This program has been started on Sunday, 25 August 2019 on Jalan Teladan 1 at Cipete Raya in Gandaria Selatan, South Jakarta. #JalanJakarta aims to fix the access for pedestrians and cyclists to MRT Jakarta station.
The #JalanJakarta Program targets to reach all 13 areas of MRT Jakarta station in May 2020. These activities vary from community initiatives in increasing pedestrian access to upgrading or constructing pavements within areas with a radius of 500 meters from MRT Jakarta station.
Activities with South Gandaria community few weeks ago focused on structuring pedestrian lane along the road which is directly connected to the Cipete Raya MRT Station. Pedestrian area painting and signage were done to make it easier for people to reach MRT station. Also additional signs for pedestrians around SD Negeri Gandaria Selatan 01 which is only 50 meters from Cipete Raya MRT Station, in order to improve the safety and comfort students when walking here.

PT MRT Jakarta President Director William Sabandar explained, the concept of improvement was carried out in three stages. Short term, from August to November 2019, will be painted on the road as the application of shared street concept to mark parking lots and school safe zones. The second is the medium term, which will begin in December 2019 to January 2020, where signage and wayfinding will be installed to the nearest Jakarta MRT station in the form of road markings; the addition of bicycle lanes, and improvement of road shading. And the last is long term, February 2020 to May 2020, will do revamping pavements and road shading.
