The name Lombok has recently become increasingly popular and the leading destination when visiting Indonesia. Since the construction of the Mandalika international circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, more and more people have been interested in setting foot on this island, which still neighbors Bali.

Usually, when you visit Lombok, the destinations that get a lot of attention are Senggigi Beach or Marese Hill. For adventurers, the peak of Mount Rinjani is the leading destination. Instead of just visiting busy tourist locations in Lombok, it's time to explore various other places in Lombok that are no less beautiful but rarely visited:

1. Pantai Tanjung Aan

Tanjung Aan Beach is one of Lombok's beaches that has not experienced the construction of certain facilities around the beach area. This beach faces the Indian Ocean, so it has a coastline of approximately 2 kilometers and is surrounded by Merese Hill.

Located in Sengkol, Kuta, Pujut, Central Lombok Regency, this beach is unique because it has two types of sand: fine sand with a flour-like texture and coarser sand. Because the waves on this beach are not significant, tourists can enjoy activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing surfing.

2. Pantai & Bukit Malimbu

Malimbu beaches and hills are among Lombok's cleanest natural tourist attractions because they are rarely visited. Located in Malaka Village, Selamat District, North Lombok Regency, this beach has a coral known as 'Karang Bolong Malimbu,' which attracts tourists to take photos.

Not far from Malimbu Beach, there is a tourist attraction to climb Malimbu Hill to watch the panoramic sunset. There are two points on this hill where you can enjoy the sunset view, namely on the east and west sides of Malimbu Beach. On Malimbu Hill, tourists can see views of Mount Agung in Bali, Gili Trawangan Island, Gili Air, and Gili Meno.

3. Pura Meru

Leave the beach for a moment to visit the location of the Pura Meru house of worship, which was founded in 1720 and is the largest temple in Lombok. Meru Temple is on Jalan Selaparang, Cakranegara, Mataram District, Mataram City. The splendor of Pura Meru attracts tourists who want to know the religious history of Lombok and witness the lives of residents up close.

4. Gili Kedis

Gili Kedis is a small island in Lombok's island chain. Its size is so tiny that residents call it Gili Kedis, which means 'Sparrow Island.'

This island offers views of coral reefs and beautiful white sand. The calm waves allow tourists to snorkel in an atmosphere reminiscent of a remote island.

To reach this island, tourists are advised to rent a boat from Tawun Harbor and can do island hopping while visiting Gili Nanggu and Gili Sudak.

5. Kebon Kopi Senaru

Shifting to the mountainous area, there is the Senaru Coffee Plantation right under Mount Rinjani's foot. This coffee plantation in Senaru Village, North Lombok Regency, has views of green nature and the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls. Here, various local restaurants serve coffee harvested directly from coffee plantations.

With its natural beauty still relatively intact and not yet touched by many tourists, Lombok's potential is still being explored and developed. Lombok should be on your bucket list for beach and mountain tourism lovers to enjoy Indonesia's extraordinary beauty.
