Geonusantara committed to keep together on running their photography community.
Inspired by Ford Founder quote, “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success”, make a group of people who mentioning theirself, Geonusantara committed to stay together on running their photography community.
One of their routine activities is Belajar Bersama Keluarga Geonusantara (BBKG) program. This activity become the difference between them and other photography communities, that aim to increase their photography skill.
This community more like to call as “family” than “member”. It is because Geonusantara wants to unite all photography enthusiast in Indonesia become a family. And of course loving masterpiece that made by young Indonesian photographers include any Indonesia's beauty and culture.
BBKG program held online via a communication app, Line. At least once a month there will be a virtual tutorial where every Geonusantara family can do "q & a" session about photography things which thrown by a professional photographer as they moderator.
Some materials they had discussed are landscape, cityscape, to food photography. This "q & a" session usually held for an hour and at the end of the session, they will get some tutorial journal as documentation.
They are not only do or talk about photography. Geotenas (Geonusantara Temu Nasional), which held once a year in addition to celebrating the anniversary of one of Geonusantara's region.
As a photography community they absolutely have a photo hunting program. Beside that, they also do workshop, to collaboration event with other communities. Geonusantara also do social thing, like fundraising to help people.
Geonusantara formed on 1 September 2015. On that time, this community was just an account to publishing good photos on Instagram. Then, after they have got so much attention from their followers, it turns out to be a photography community on 8 October 2015.
A year after they formed as a community, they have got region management in 11 provinces. Starts from Jabodetabek, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Timur, Bali, South Kalimantan, to South Sulawesi. At least now, @geonusantara has more than 90.000 followers.
