At Jakarta Dessert Week 2019, visitors can enjoy desserts which is only available at this event and are made by pastry chefs.
First time being held, Jakarta Dessert Week (JDW) was an initiative of six practitioners and activists in culinary world aimed to building a conducive ecosystem to the growth of the dessert industry in Jakarta. JDW is also a place for Jakarta pastry chefs to create their dishes so anyone can enjoy it. Jakarta Dessert Week 2019 took place from last Monday (7/10) to 20 October 2019. JDW carries a retro theme that refers to the design or taste of the past.
"We (the founders of Jakarta Dessert Week) are equally happy with dessert. We also see that Jakarta has developed in its food industry, why don't we become a creative container for pastry chefs in Jakarata," said Jakarta Dessert Week Co-Founder, Kevindra Soemantri. This event also wants to invite people to understand and be interested in dessert world, as well as show young people about how to become a pastry chef and how to do business in dessert industry.
For two weeks, visitors can also enjoy desserts which is only available at this event and are made by pastry chefs. Uniquely, JDW is not centered in one place, but in several outlets that work together with JDW. Yes, Jakarta Dessert Week has previously conducted curatorial processes in a number of restaurants to pastry shops that are considered to have the best dessert.
Places that will spoil your tongue with a variety of special creations, including Nusa Gastronomy on Jalan Kemang Raya, Social Affair Bakehouse PIK Avenue, Delico in Menara Anugrah and Menara BNI, Es Krim Djowo by Eskimomo in mBloc Space, Namelaka ShopHaus Menteng, and TWG Tea in Plaza Senayan and Pacific Place. There are also BEAU Bakery on Jalan Cikajang and Jalan Panglima Polim IX. La Patisserie in Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, Capital Place, Jalan Gatot Subroto. And La Moda Restaurant in Plaza Indonesia.
There is also a flavor collab event from Honest Spoon x Chef Yuda Bustara on Jl. Cikajang No.63. Collab menu from Burgreens x@kelincitertidur Menteng, in Kemang Village, Pacific Place, BSD, and Dharmawangsa. Others collab menu also come from Makaron Pullman Jakarta Indonesia x Ron Prasanto. Pipiltin Cocoa x Eskimomo collaboration in Alun Alun, Grand Indonesia and also Weekend Treats (12 - 13, 19 - 20 October 2019) by Pop-up by Cold Moo. As well as In Collaboration with Pastry Chef Nabila Yoestino of Mother Monster in Plaza Indonesia.
Besides being able to try JDW Officials Dessert at those places from 7 to 20 October, Jakarta Dessert Week 2019 also has other special events such as, Hands-On Dessert Class with Pastry Chef Kim Pangestu, Arkamaya Artisan Cakery, a Baking Demo with Dessert Dining, Dessert Drawing for Kids and many more. The event which is supported by Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta also provides various attractive prizes for visitors.
