Staying at a hotel while on vacation is certainly a moment of relaxation in itself after being tired of traveling. While the hotel looks comfortable and the security can be trusted, you need to keep your own safety in case of an emergency or to avoid crime during your stay. Come on, take a look at 7 tips for keeping safe while staying at the following hotel!

1. Study the Emergency Map
Behind every hotel room door is usually an emergency map. This map contains information about the route you should use in an emergency. It's a good idea to learn the path so that when an emergency occurs you know which way to run and can reduce panic.

2. Choose a Room on the Middle Floor
Hotels usually consist of several floors. Therefore, choose a room on the middle floor of the building. Why? Because this position is considered safer than a room on the bottom floor that is traversed by many people it has the potential to be accessed by others. At the same time, the rooms on the top floor will make it difficult for you to save yourself in an emergency. So, choose a space between the bottom floor and the top floor.

3. Put a “Do Not Disturb” Sign
When you are not in the room, place a “Do Not Disturb” sign outside the room. This can prevent housekeeping or anyone else from entering your room. With this, the things in your room will stay safe.

4. Store Valuables in the Safe
If you still want the room cleaned by housekeeping, place the valuables you want to stay in the safe which is usually available in hotel rooms. Use a unique password code and avoid using standard numbers like 123456, 000000, and so on. Also, make sure that only you know the password.

5. Create a Crowded Atmosphere from Inside the Room
When leaving the room, you can turn on the TV at a low volume to keep a lively atmosphere from inside the room. This can make other people passing in front of your room assume that someone is in your room. If the atmosphere of the room is quiet, other people will think that your room is empty and has the potential to invite unwanted criminal acts.

6. Bring a small bag
When traveling, bring a small bag containing important documents such as identity cards, passports, money, etc. This is useful when there is an emergency, this is the bag that should be carried with you immediately. Make sure you always carry this bag with you wherever you go or place it near you when you are in the room.

7. Always Close the Curtains
Whether you're in the room or not, it's a good idea to always close the curtains. In addition to maintaining privacy while in the room, closing the curtains can also keep you safe when the room is empty. So that other people can't peek into your room from another building. An empty room can invite crime. Of course, you don't want anything unwanted to happen while you are on vacation, right? Always be safe, peeps!
