Important things about mudik via Trans Java Toll Road.

As many as 1.9 million Jabodetabek people are predicted to use the Trans Java toll road during mudik Lebaran. The government has prepared some traffic schemes for mudik flow and backflow of Eid 2019 via the 1,167 km toll road. For those who plan to use this toll road for mudik, here are the things you should know about the Trans Java toll road.

1. One Way System
The government will implement a one-way system during mudik Lebaran, starting from the Cikarang Utama KM 29 to Brebes Barat KM 262. It will valid from 30 May to 2 June 2019 for 24 hours. As for the reverse flow, the government will implement the same system on the toll road KM 1 to KM 29 Palimanan. This one-way system when the backflow season will effect from 8 to 9 June 2019 for 24 hours. In addition, the Police Traffic Corps ofIndonesia (Korlantas Polri) predicts that the peak of mudik will occur on 31 May 2019, while the peak return flow will occur on 9 June,2019.

2. The Displacement of the Cikarang Utama Toll Gate
The main Cikarang toll gate is often being the bottleneck on the Trans Java toll road, especially during mudik season. Therefore, PT Jasa Marga and the Toll Road Regulatory Agency or BPJT plan to move the toll gate to KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate and KM 67 Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate.

3. Don't Rely on Rest Area
In previous years, rest area was often full of travellers who wanted to rest or just want to refill their car fuel. The density in the rest area even causes traffic jam on the toll road. On this basis, the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has asked travellers to not depend on rest area on the toll road, during mudik Lebaran 2019. The travellers are advised to go out of the toll road and enter the urban area to find a place to rest.

4. Toll Fares Discount
During mudik season, the government plans to impose toll fares discount. But the decision regarding how much discount to be given will only be released ten days before Eid.

5. Odd-even System at Merak - Bakauheni Port
The government will implement an odd-even system for private vehicles that want to cross via Merak and Bakauheni port starting on 30 May 2019 at 20.00 WIB - 08.00 WIB. Or during rush hour at Merak - Bakauheni port. But this rule is only an appeal.
