1. Soto Solo
Soto Solo is one of the most famous culinary delights in the city. Unlike soto from other regions, Soto Solo is usually made from clear chicken or beef broth, served with pieces of meat, and boiled eggs, and complemented with ingredients such as Koya (coconut serundeng), chili sauce, and lime juice. Its fresh and savory taste makes it a favorite of many people.

2. Gudeg
Although gudeg is better known as a typical Yogyakarta food, Solo also has a delicious version of it. Gudeg Solo is made from young jackfruit cooked with coconut milk and spices, giving it a sweet and savory taste. It is usually served with rice, chicken, eggs, and kretek chili sauce. This combination of flavors makes gudeg a very tasty dish. It is delicious for breakfast or lunch.

3. Lenjongan
Lenjongan is a snack mostly made from tubers. Among them are getuk, tiwul, cenil, jongkong, sticky rice, and lupis. Its sweet taste is due to being doused with liquid Javanese sugar. Local people usually enjoy lenjongan as a breakfast menu item at Pasar Gede.

4. Timlo
Timlo is a food in the form of clear soup containing shredded chicken, boiled eggs, mushrooms, vermicelli, and vegetables such as carrots. Eating timlo must be with a plate of warm rice, making it similar to the soto menu. The refreshing broth will be even more delicious if eaten with chili sauce and lime juice.
