Have you read the previous the 5 areas prone to street vendors in Jakarta during Ramadhan (Part I)? This time, Alinear going to review another areas prone to street vendors in Jakarta during Ramadhan, and here are the list.
1. Pasar Gembrong
For those who love to buy good quality yet reasonably-priced toys, Pasar Gembrong becomes their best friend. Located in Basuki Rachmat Street, East Jakarta, this area is prone to street vendors during Ramadhan until Eid ul’ Fitr. Although they were relocated around 2013, most street vendors resell in old places because of buyers.
2. Rawamangun
Still in East Jakarta, right in Rawamangun area, along in Balai Pustaka Street, it becomes a central of street food vendors. During Ramadhan, most street food vendors will be crowded starts from 3 to 7 pm. You can find a great amount of favourable break fasting dishes.
3. Banjir Kanal Timur
Besides it becomes most favourite spot to spend fasting day, Banjir Kanal Timur (BKT) also becomes street vendors favourite spot to sell their goods. Most of them come from areas nearby BKT. It predicts will be crowded by dozens street vendor, starts from 3 pm to midnight.
4. Around Jatinegara Station
More likely street vendors in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, street vendors in Jatinegara Station will be crowded some areas, like Matraman Raya Street to Jatinegara Station, although several times being relocated by Government of Jakarta. Here, you can find highly anticipated break fasting snacks, like gorengan (fried snacks) and a great amount of ice drinks.
5. Koja
Move to another area, North Jakarta, in Islamic Center area, Koja, street vendors will be crowded this place like other street vendors. Most of them start open stalls at 3 pm. You can easily find Indonesia’s favourite break fasting snacks, like gorengan (fried snacks), es buah (iced fruit dessert), es kelapa (fresh coconut iced drink) and many more.
